From Kalisha’s Desk—December Edition

2024 marks 50 years of impact Youth Emergency Services (YES)— a very special milestone for our organization! For 50 years, our board members, staff, volunteers, donors, and followers alike have been united by the same core belief that no young person should have to walk through life’s darkest moments alone.

Driven by our mission to provide housing and support to youth experiencing instability, crisis, and homelessness, YES has empowered Omaha’s young people to thrive in independence for half a century. In 2024 alone, YES saw:

- 394 youth served with housing and support services.
- 107 calls to Safe Place, connecting youth in crisis to immediate help.
- 30 youth find safety and stability in our Emergency Shelter.
- 11 youth receive critical care at our Maternity Group Home.
- 269 BIPOC youth and 115 LGBTQ+ youth find safe spaces where they could be seen, valued, and supported.
