Meet Alyssa | Staff Spotlight

“I know what it’s like to not be sure where you’re going to live.”

Alyssa Lutz, now the Philanthropy Manager of Youth Emergency Services (YES), understands the struggles of homelessness firsthand. In fact, it is what most compelled her to work with YES.

“That period in my life really opened my eyes to how tough it can be for young people in similar situations,” Alyssa said. “It made me want to do something to help them get the support and stability they deserve.”

YES is dedicated to provide housing and support to youth experiencing instability, crisis, and homelessness. Through building connections—whether between youth and community resources, or our staff and volunteers—YES continues to empower the young people in our community, change lives, and encourage independence. Alyssa’s role as Philanthropy Manager is critical in building these connections.

“My job is really about bringing people together to create positive change for the youth we serve,” she said.

In her work to build new relationships with community leaders and maintain lasting partnerships, Alyssa actively promotes YES’s mission. She often leverages her personal connection to the cause, which adds depth and impact to her efforts. For Alyssa, supporting young people facing homelessness is the most powerful way to turn her experiences into positive action.

“Working with YES lets me take what I’ve been through and use it to make a real difference, helping kids find a safe place and a better future.”
