1985: Finding a New Home

1985—finding a new home after a decade of moving and, well, more moving.

In 1978, Bellevue University had generously donated an empty house on the college’s campus for YES to use as a counseling facility. For two years, our staff served youth at both this donated space and at the Whitman Center—the original YES house. When the college announced plans to develop the land the house was on, our team scrambled to find a new facility. Five years later, we found it: the perfect place to host YES’ second location. So perfect, in fact, that, 50 years later, the house serves as our Maternity Group Home!
