From Kalisha’s Desk—June Edition
There is no one look for homelessness. Much like there is no one way toward homelessness.
Ultimately, young people come to Youth Emergency Services (YES), because their previous residence failed to provide the security and stability that make up a home. YES is here to bring Omaha’s youth a safe space to call their own.
At the end of 2023, we announced plans to consolidate all nine program locations into one new Residential Housing Campus, located at 575 South 28th Street in Omaha. This unified location, currently under construction, will bring together YES housing and programs under one roof! Once completed in the fall of 2025, this new campus will include 40 one and two-bedroom housing units along with 16 shelter beds.
There may not be one pathway to homelessness. With your support, YES can bring Omaha’s youth to one home. I ask you to please consider making a donation before June 30th to help support our homeless and near-homeless youth. When you give, you help us provide the young people of our community with a safe space to call their own.
Thank you for your commitment to supporting a community where all youth can thrive in their independence.
