A Note from our Executive Director

At Youth Emergency Services, we understand the importance of providing critical support to youth and young adults who may need our services. Our team of dedicated professionals works tirelessly to ensure that every youth and young adult who come to us for help, receives the care and attention they need to overcome their challenges and move forward with their lives.

From emergency shelter services to counseling and mental health support, we offer a wide range of services designed to meet the unique needs of each person who walks through our doors. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where young people can heal, grow, and thrive.

One Team. One Community. A Whole Lot of Support.

There are many homeless youth in Omaha who, without help, may struggle as adults. Youth Emergency Services (YES) was created to assist these individuals. YES offers programs that provide support for human trafficking survivors, job preparation classes, case management, mental and nursing health services, and connections to support communities to prevent homelessness. Our programs are created to assist in ending the cycle of homelessness and to involve young adults and youth in a lifelong journey of self-reliance and self-care. At YES, we don't just provide a temporary fix for youth and young adults, but we empower them with the tools and knowledge to thrive and succeed.

"Mental Health Matters: Local Organizations Help Serve Underserved Communities"

In the next year, Omaha will see at least three major projects coming online to address the mental health of underserved communities: the Child Saving Institute’s (CSI) campus expansion, the new Community Alliance headquarters, and Radius. Meanwhile, other organizations are stepping up to address coverage gaps.

Complex Challenges

Radius CEO and President Nick Juliano is quick to point out that there are “great programs in our community.” The challenge, he said, is that some populations are experiencing complex challenges that current organizations can’t accommodate fully.

For example, Youth Emergency Services (YES) Executive Director Kalisha Reed said affordable housing or food insecurity may produce a level of anxiety that an individual may not be equipped to handle.
